The Global Law Books and European Law Books review program publishes reviews of texts in the following fields: 1.) European integration, 2.) European law and politics, 3.) Global governance and the social implications of globalization, 4.) Regional or international trade, and 5.) International economic policy and law. Reviewers will demonstrate through the experience listed on their C.V. and a very brief explanation of their professional background, the academic or professional credentials necessary to perform a critical analysis of the text to be reviewed. You must subscribe as a reviewer through the ‘Subscribe as a Reviewer’ link on the home page or the "Guide for Reviewers" page prior to your submission of a book review, review proposal or review response. The Jean Monnet Center and Hauser Global Law School Program maintain a "no friends or enemies" policy in selecting reviewers for specific titles, which requires that the reviewer have no personal or professional interest in praising or condemning the substance of the text or the text's author. Reviewers may compose short reviews (300-500 words) addressing the general content, scope and overall quality of the text, or full review essays (3,000-5,000 words) which place the reviewed text within the field of law addressed by the author and provide deeper analysis of the underlying assumptions or theories proposed in the text. The deadline for short reviews is generally two months from the date that the reviewer receives the text and three months from the date of receipt for full review essays, though adjustments may be made to the deadline at the request of the reviewer. Immediately following approval of the review proposal or request by the review editors, we will provide reviewers with a complimentary copy of the text to be reviewed. Reviews may not be concurrently submitted for consideration by other publishers. Those reviews which have been submitted concurrently to another publication will be summarily rejected for further consideration without exception.
The Global Law Books and European Law Books review program maintains a standing roster of reviewers from which the editorial board will draw in identifying reviewers with backgrounds well-suited for reviewing a particular text. All potential reviewers must join our roster of reviewers prior to their submission of book reviews, review proposals or review responses. To join the roster, simply click on ‘Subscribe as a Reviewer’ on the home page or the "Guide for Reviewers" page of our site and complete the online form. You may also attach your C.V. to an email message directed to law.bookreviews@nyu.edu which includes a statement describing your professional qualification in the field of European and/or global law and economics issues. Please list "Subscribe as a Reviewer" in the subject line.
The Global Law Books and European Law Books review program continually receives books from publishers for review. If you have already joined our roster of reviewers, you may also send us an email which contains the full citation for the book you would like to review and a very brief explanation of your interest and expertise in the particular subject matter of the text. Please email this information to law.bookreviews@nyu.edu, with the subject line reading "Proposed Review: [Book Title]". We will acknowledge receipt of your materials and promptly provide you with our decision via email.

The Global Law Books and European Law Books review program welcomes critical responses to reviews posted on our sites. The editorial board will read and selectively publish online those responses which add intellectual value to the book review originally published on the site. To make this easier, we have supplied a comment box at the bottom of all reviews. After you have subscribed, you may submit critical responses to any review by simply completing the appropriate sections of the comment box for a particular review. You may also send the text of the review response (as a Microsoft Word or a compatible program file), a copy of your C.V., and a brief description of your background on the particular subject matter of the text or review via email to law.bookreviews@nyu.edu with "Response to [Book Review Author]" listed in the subject line. (You need not resubmit a previously submitted C.V. and background materials.)
